Becoming a better version of yourself won’t happen overnight. In fact, it requires a lot of discipline and intention.
The change you want will happen in the small, unglamorous moments when nobody’s watching.
It looks like choosing to get up early when your bed feels like heaven, saying no to things that drain you, even when people don’t understand, and doing the work on yourself when it would be easier to blame everyone else for where you are.
In short, this process is not about perfection, but consistency.
It’s time we stopped waiting for permission to become the women we know we’re meant to be.
With that in mind, here are nine things we are choosing this year at the Bold Daughters community to finally be the women God has envisioned us to be.
1. Getting Good at Saying No
We’re not doing everything, and that’s not rebellion; it’s wisdom. People-pleasing? Out the door. “No” is a full sentence this season, and we’re using it without guilt.
Need ideas? We are saying no to scrolling social media for hours!!
2. Aligning With God
Whew, don’t get me started! We’re carving out time for the One who knows the way. However you do it, reading the word, worship, journaling, or prayer, we’re making space for God. Because alignment brings clarity, and clarity brings peace. He’ll show us what’s for us and what’s not.
3. Celebrating Other Women
We’re embracing an abundance mindset. Clapping for another woman doesn’t dim our light—it multiplies it. So yes, repost your friend’s win, hype your sister up, and don’t hold back. There’s enough room for all of us to shine.
4. Asking for Help
This season, we’re not wearing “I got it all together” as a badge of honor. If we need help with the kids, we ask. If we need a coach, we hire. No guilt. No shame. Because guess what? You can’t shame the shameless.
5. Speaking Life Over Ourselves
We’re not waiting for Sunday to say, “The devil is a liar, or we are blessed.” We speak life daily, over our homes, kids, cars, jobs, and minds. We believe things are shifting in our favour even when we don’t see it yet.
6. Prioritizing Self-Care
I said what I said. Even when the sink is full of dishes, whether it’s a nap, a vacation, or a day of doing nothing, we’re making time to sip our tea in peace. It’s time to smell the roses and enjoy paintings.
7. Minding Our Business and Staying in Our Lane
You read that right. We are not scrolling and comparing. We’re refining our gifts, showing up for our goals, and cheering for our friends. Our goal is to become a better person than we were yesterday.
8. Continuing to Learn
We’re staying curious and teachable. Whether it’s a book, a podcast, a mentor, or nature, we’re open. Growth doesn’t end because we’ve hit a milestone. We continue to learn.
9. Showing Up—Even When It’s Not Glamorous
We’re showing up without the applause, filters, or perfect setup. No likes? No lighting? No problem. We show up anyway because it’s a choice, and we have made one.

Final Thoughts on Becoming a Better Version of Yourself
For those of you still waiting for the “perfect moment,” this is your nudge to start scared, start ugly, and start unsure—because perfection is a big scam.
We choose progress over perfection. Becoming a better version of yourself is a lifelong journey filled with small, intentional choices. Whether you’re just starting or well along the path, remember—consistency matters more than perfection.
Start today, even if it’s messy. Becoming a better version of yourself starts with the next decision you make.
