Out Of The Box Friends: A Unique Perspective on Friendships

We all have friends, but not all friendships are created equal. Let’s acknowledge the different types of friendships we all have. Some of us may have a wide circle of friends, while others prefer a few close companions. Then there are those who swear by their one and only BFF. Each of these friendships is unique and valuable in its own way.

Grab your favorite drink because I’m about to spill the tea on one of the most exciting and vital types of friends you’re missing in your tribe: Out Of The Box Friends.

The Variety of Friendships

Among your friends, there are those you can call at any hour, and they’ll pick up the phone. Some are always there for you, while others are the go-to for a fun hangout. There are friends you can borrow money from, those who discuss business ideas or school assignments, and those who simply bring good vibes. Friends come in different roles, and you get the idea.

The Value of Out Of The Box Friends

Today, I want to draw your attention to the Out Of The Box Friends—the ones who think differently and offer unexpected ideas. You know the type: their suggestions might sound strange or far-fetched, but they often work wonders.

Out Of The Box Friends

Take, for example, the story of the paralyzed man with four friends from the Bible. They heard that Jesus was coming and knew their friend couldn’t attend the event alone. These four friends were convinced he would be healed if they could get him to Jesus.

Courage and Commitment

So, what did they do? They carried their friend to where Jesus was. The place was packed, but instead of turning back, they took their friend onto the roof and lowered him down to Jesus. Their courage and commitment to this unconventional idea is truly inspiring.

Now, the nurse in me is thinking about safety—because these friends were definitely practicing outside their scope (pun intended)! No one in their right mind would carry a paralyzed man onto a roof. Could there have been a miscalculation? It could have been a disaster.

But no, these guys believed in their idea. The Bible only mentions how flawlessly it went, and I want to believe we all need friends like this—not just faithful companions, but those who can think out of the box and voice creative ideas.

Challenging the Status Quo

Too often, we seek people who think like us, who do things our way. But when we encounter individuals who suggest ideas outside our norm, we might judge them as crazy or trying too hard. However, sometimes we need friends who can challenge the status quo—not with arrogance but with passion and a willingness to make things happen. These Out Of The Box Friends inspire us to think beyond our boundaries.
