Habits To Break

6 Habits To Break For A Better You

If you’re new here, this is where we focus on ourselves daily. We are not self-absorbed but have come to understand that to improve, we must be willing to do the hard work. And the hard work we’re talking about is to work on ourselves daily by identifying habits to break.

Today, I want to talk about some key habits to break that will significantly improve each area of your life.

Let’s dive in.

1. Complaining

The first habit to break is complaining. When you complain, you shift responsibility from yourself to others, and it drains your energy to complete any task you’re complaining about. Complaining is one of those habits to break that can instantly boost your mood and productivity.

Whenever you feel tempted to complain, remind yourself to be grateful instead.

2. Waiting for Something to Happen While Doing Nothing

The second habit to break is sitting idly and waiting for something to happen. We simply cannot afford to wait around; action is necessary to achieve our goals. This is a classic example of habits to break if you want to see progress.

Whether it’s personal goals, business goals, or career goals, waiting won’t transform your dreams into reality. Take action now.

3. Expecting Gloom Constantly

The third habit to break is always expecting the worst (and I’m guilty of this one). I didn’t start this channel many years ago because I expected failure. That mindset of expecting doom is a tough one among the habits to break, but it’s essential.

Ask yourself today, “Am I expecting the worst?” If so, it’s time to change that narrative.

4. Trying to Always be in Control

We cannot control everything. Let us work with what we can control. And yes, we have the power.

 Habits To Break

If you decide today that you’re going to work on this habit, the power is within you. Deal with the things that you can control and let go of the things you can’t. It’s time to get rid of the need to control everything.

5. Waiting for the Perfect Time

How many times have you waited for the perfect time? I know I waited. You keep giving excuses like, “I don’t think I’m ready,” “I don’t think this is the right time”, etc. This, right here, is what I’m talking about. You’re waiting for all the things to line up. Let me break it down for you. There is nothing like the perfect time.

In fact, I’ll say that the perfect time is when you decide to do something. That is the perfect time for you. So, if there is something that you’re passionate about, it could be a personal goal. It could be a business goal. If you’re passionate about it, the right time to do it, the perfect time to do it is now.

I’m not saying you go out there, and you start (you know) big things. You need to take the baby steps first. Stop waiting for the perfect time.

If you have to celebrate, celebrate now.

If you have to give, give now.

And if you have to start, start now.

6. Failing to Listen to Your Instincts

The next habit to break this season is not listening and following your instincts. How often did your instinct tell you to do something, and you did the exact opposite, and the consequences were not so good?

I know sometimes we go with the mind. But the heart is connected to our souls. And I believe that our hearts sometimes can lead us to the best path for us. So, take time and prayerfully listen to what your heart is telling you, and follow.
